Having a 3D/4D ultrasound during your pregnancy is one of the most exciting things that come in during the journey of pregnancy. Words are not enough to express the feelings when a mother sees her baby for the first time. In the past, when the world was not advanced, women had to wait a whole o month to see their babies once they were born. But with today’s innovative technology, you can now see your unborn child in the womb with the help of 3D/4D ultrasounds. You can get memorable colored images of your baby and even listen to their heartbeat. At Baby’s 1st Selfie, we aim to provide our customers with the highest quality sonography images.

Many factors affect the quality of sonography images. Some of the factors are within the control of a woman, but some factors are not in her control. The sonographer might move you in different positions to get the ultrasound done, but different factors like the present fluid in the womb and the density of tissues from where the scan is done – all these factors impact the quality of sonography images. If you are going to get your ultrasound done, it’s recommended to consider the below-mentioned factors to get the best possible 3D/4D pictures.

  1. Look for the professional Sonographer

Whether you believe it or not, you don’t have to be a professional in many states to do an ultrasound. When choosing a facility or a sonographer to get your 3D/4D ultrasound done, check whether the person is certified and experienced. At Baby’s First Selfie, we hire sonographers with an accredited multi-year medical ultrasound program who are experienced enough to get the scanning done with precision and accuracy. This allows us to have peace of mind and ensures customer satisfaction.

When you are about to get your ultrasound done, ask the sonographer about his certification and experience because you can’t take the risk on something very critical and close to your heart.

  1. Know the right timing to get an ultrasound done

This is the most frequently asked question as mothers are very much concerned about it. And also, it’s very important to know to get clear images of your baby.

After 16 weeks of your pregnancy, you can get to know the gender of your baby. This is the time when your baby is in the development stage, and you can see your developing baby if you get your ultrasound done around 16 weeks. A recent trial conducted to check the accuracy of gender determination before 16 weeks gestation found that it’s not as accurate. Sometimes you get to know about the gender, but it’s not 100% right. That’s why it’s recommended to wait at least 16 weeks to be sure about the gender. At Baby’s 1st Selfie, we provide high-resolution 3D/4D images as memories that the parents will cherish forever. In 24-26 weeks of pregnancy, the facial feature of the baby starts to become more prominent. If you are having twins or triplets, it’s the best time to get your 3D/4D ultrasound done, as you will be able to get an idea about their features and will know if they are identical or not.

If you are going to have a single 3D/4D ultrasound, 27 to 32 weeks is the best as the baby is almost developed, and you can get good-quality pictures. 33 to 37 weeks is also a very good time to get an ultrasound done, but only if the baby cooperates. The Baby gets larger by this time and starts moving. Getting the desired pictures during this time is a bit more challenging for the sonographers.

  1. Consume a higher amount of fluids

Having enough water or liquids before your 3D/4D ultrasound is the best thing you can do. It is one of the most important factors in determining the quality of your sonography pictures. Drinking more fluids ends up clearing your amniotic fluid, which is like a door to view the baby and get clear pictures. It’s important to know that in the case of pregnancy, we are completely dependent on amniotic fluids. And it takes days for your body to convert the water into the amniotic fluid. So, start drinking more water at least a week before your appointment to get the desired results.

  1. Do Eat before getting your 3D/4D ultrasound.

Try to eat something light about an hour before you are appointed it will keep the baby active, and if the baby will be active, you can get clear pictures and will be able to see the baby moving in the womb.

  1. Try to have a glass of fresh juice

As juices are good for your body, drinking a glass of fresh juice before your ultrasound will get the baby more active and moving. Avoid soda or caffeine as it keeps the baby inactive and sometimes sleepy. The presence of natural sugars in fresh juices keeps the baby active for longer than usual. So, try to have a glass full of fresh juice about 30 minutes before your ultrasound.

  1. Wear loose clothes to your 3D/4D ultrasound

For the scanning to get the ultrasound done, you need to slightly push your pants below your hips. And for that, you must wear loose clothes that are comfortable because you have to be in the same position for around 15-20 minutes. If you keep all these factors in mind before your 3D/4D ultrasound, you will probably get clearer images of your baby.
